a little dinner

Neb and I have a new thing now on the weekends...we go out to eat!  It's not a new or different concept but from not really being able to go out for 12 years, it has been a GREAT experience!  We like to pick restaurants where you can bring your own wine, especially since we just got a lot of fun wines when we were in Maryland. 

Earlier in the day, I went and got my haircut.  It isn't usually a big deal except for the fact that I told my hairdresser that I was going to dinner with Neb that evening.  He gave me big curly hair, which I totally loved!  Neb knew how excited I was so he asked Sasha to take a few photos of us before we left.  I thought it was very sweet of him!

I was away a few weeks ago {I know...I'm behind!} and worked on actually scrapbooking.  It's a miracle, people!  I've been in such a scrapping funk lately but I got my groove on when I was scrapping with my friends.  Here are some of my pages:

Obsessed with The Littlest Pet Shop is an understatement where Zora is concerned.  She LOVES her pets!  She found out that to get the cute koala bear, you had to save up 6 stickers on special pets to send away for it.  She did special chores to earn money to collect her little pets with stickers.  The other day she finally got the final sticker and was BEYOND excited to send away for the koala.

After she was done getting the envelope ready, she thought that the koala would just show up in the mail that afternoon.  It's going to be a long wait for this koala but I know her smiley face is going to love it when it does finally come.

For some reason, Sasha was really afraid of getting her report card this week.  She has always been a really good student and has always received good grades.  She was shocked when I told her that she made straight A's! 

So when Zora & I went for storytime on Wednesday morning, we stopped by their little gift shop and saw the cutest bag for Sasha.  It has a monkey on it, which is her favoite cute animal, and we thought it was perfect for her!

She was thrilled when she came home and saw her new bag...emptying the contents of her old backpack all over the living room to load up her new messenger bag...loving it and looking forward to showing her friends.

 

dad's night

A few weeks ago, Zora came out of her class talking about dad coming to her class.  I had no clue what she was talking about but she was adament about Daddy coming to school with her at night.  When I got home and opened her backpack, it all made sense...they were having a Dad's Night in her kindergarten class!

She talked about this for weeks!! When the day finally arrived, she made reference to it every 5 minutes...literally.

*  did you know it's Dad's Night?

*  don't forget...Dad's Night is tonight!

Daddy finally came home and off she went to school.  She came home so excited about what she did...they made a picture frame, colored, played outside and she got to show him the crafts she made that week.  She was one happy little girl!

 

it's almost spring...almost

My kids have been practically jumping out the door in the mornings because the weather has been beautiful here...chilly 40's in the morning and then almost 70 in the afternoons. I'm surprised they aren't begging to wear their swimsuits...seriously.

My friend mentioned having a little photoshoot with her little girl today, so I thought I would take some snapshots of the kids outside enjoying the weather (my photos are not as good as hers but I still love my pics...cuz their my kids!)

     

 

Niko's Street

Niko has kinda been having a rough time lately.  He's fine at home but school is a different story.  So when we were out on the wine trail in MD, we saw a street named after him!  We took a snapshot and showed him when we got home---he was so happy and that totally made my day.

Neb and I took a short trip to Frederick MD over this past weekend.  It was a misty and dreary weekend but that didn't stop us from touring the vineyards!  The country was beautiful and knowing that we were on the Civil War Trail as well was pretty cool.

The vineyards were gearing up for another season of grapes on the vine to the bottle and we were thrilled to taste what they had to offer.  We really enjoyed the larger vineyards more but the smaller ones were nice too.

Frederick itself was a small town with lots of community involvement.  We ate in town on both Saturday and Sunday evenings and were impressed to see so many people out eating.  Afterward on Sunday night, we went to the movie theater across from our hotel....it was a STUPID movie but we laughed and realized we don't go to the movies by ourselves often enough.

Monday was a day of travel, however we did go into downtown Baltimore to eat at the Blue Moon Cafe.  Does anyone else watch Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives on the Food Network??  It was featured on that show and ever since I saw it I knew that I had to go there.  We got a little lost in Baltimore, but we finally found the cafe.  Before you die, you must have their Captain Crunch French Toast with whipped cream & fresh fruit...it was simply the best thing I have ever eaten!  Neb got the Salsa Burrito and that too was delish!!!

All in all it was a great trip with just the two of us!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ARC Gala

Life here has been hectic and boring all at the same time.  Nothing too interesting to share...sorry!

Neb and I attended the American Red Cross Gala for the Burlington County Chapter this past Friday.  It was such a good time!  We went with my two business partners and their husbands.  The food was delish and the drinks were yummy.  We bid on a bunch of different baskets and WON!  I loved spending time with Neb all dressed up and my dress was beautiful because of the necklace and earrings he bought me.

 

 

 

it's a snow day

While most kids in the US have school today, the kids in my town have off from school.  Why? Because the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter and Mother Nature decided to indulge the groundhog.  It has been snowing here since last night at around 6pm...it's still snowing as of 2:30pm on Monday.  The winds are really frigid so when we are outside, it feels like little ice cubes going down your back at all times.

That won't stop us from sledding!

Oh no!  We actually went sledding twice so far today.  The first time it was still snowing and really cold.  Not many good pictures and Zora started crying because she was cold....she was probably hungry too.  The second time the snow had stopped falling and it was less windy when we were sledding.  However during our trip down the hills, it started snowing and blowing again.  This time I couldn't take it but I got some awesome pictures!

Where are the kids now? Playing outside in the front yard.  Love that they still like being out there!
